Morgan silver dollars are one of the most popular series of United States coins amongst coin collectors. The coin is named after its designer, George T. They were struck every year from 1878 to 1904 and revived again in 1921 for a single year. It was then replaced with the Peace silver dollar.
A very thin, light, horridly struck American Silver Eagle counterfeit with a date that is 86 years too early. Even the obverse design which was originally used by the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, was not struck until 1916. Needless to say, it is relatively unusual to come across a counterfeit ASE done in this manner.

1900 Silver Dollar Graded
First, note the absurd date. The first modern American Silver Eagle was minted in 1986. | This counterfeit is nearly in medal alignment. If you place your index finger and thumb at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock respectively and spin the coin, you'll notice that both images are right-side up. |

Walking Liberty Silver Dollar 1900
The 1900-O Morgan Dollar (Buy on eBay) was the highest mintage issue for this year of the series at the turn of the century. With production taking place at the New Orleans Mint, the total mintage reached 12,590,000 pieces. This individually as well as cumulative topped the production, which took place during the same year at the Philadelphia and San Francisco facilities.
Due to the higher mintage and survival rate, this issue remains readily available across all grade levels, with even gem examples available for less than $200.
A notable variety is the 1900-O/CC Morgan Dollar. It is estimated that this over-mintmark represents about 10% of the overall mintage. These coins are in steady demand due to their listing in the Red Book.
